Last Day of School - Monday, June 4th

The last day of school for the 2017-18 school year is Monday, June 4th. Students will be dismissed early. Students in grades 6th-8th will be dismissed at 11AM and students in grades K-5th will be dismissed at 12PM.

PSAT 8/9 Assessment

(8th grade students only) On October 25, 2017, 8th grade students will take the PSAT 8/9 assessment. Data collected from the assessment will help schools identify students likely to succeed in Honors and Advance Placement high school courses. It will also help students determine what they need to work on most so that they’re ready for college when they graduate from high school. Once the tests are scored results will be mailed to the homes of the students.

High school Algebra program for 8th grade students

ESD 159 has collaborated with Rich Township High School 227 in an effort to provide a high school Algebra program for 8th grade students. Students in the 80th percentile or higher on their Fall Math NWEA were selected to participate in the program. The program is taught at Colin Powell Middle School by Ms. Washington and is held Mondays – Fridays from 7:00AM – 7:50AM. Students who successfully complete the program will receive high school credit that will carry over to Rich 227 upon their 8th grade graduation.
