Greetings, Colin Powell Middle School Families,

As I embark upon the third year of the principal of Colin Powell Middle School, there is a singular motto and focus: Excellence, by any means necessary! We have made some strides, but we have much work to do in order for our students to develop academically, socially, and emotionally. I cannot tell you how much joy I get when I walk in the building each day and receive the welcome that I do from your students - it makes me want to give them my all. Yet, I realize we will only excel if we all exude The Eagle Mentality:

7 Tenants of The Eagle Mentality

1. Eagles FLY ALONE at HIGH ALTITUDES (Eagles are INDEPENDENT THINKERS)

2. Eagles have VISION and the ABILITY to FOCUS (Eagles are GOAL ORIENTED)

3. Eagles are FEARLESS (Eagles are COURAGEOUS)

4. Eagles are TENACIOUS (Eagles are RELENTLESS)

5. Eagles NEVER EAT DEAD THINGS (Eagles are INTENTIONAL)

6. Eagles PREPARE for TRAINING (Eagles are DEDICATED)

7. Eagles POSSES VITALITY (Eagles are FULL OF LIFE)

As principal, I am charged with the responsibility of ensuring that our teachers and staff provide an environmentally safe and instructionally sound place for your students to attend each day - I will give it my all. With that said, we need you! We need you to ensure that your students exude The Eagle Mentality!
