Happy New Year! Just a reminder, school starts back on Monday, January 4th. Hopefully you had an enjoyable winter break.

In view of the fact that the COVID-19 positivity and transmission rates are increasing within our communities, our District is taking a measured and cautious approach toward a return to in-person learning. At our Board of Education meeting on October 14, 2020, it was recommended that we remain in Remote Learning until January 2021. Click on link for more....

After consultation with Illinois Department of Public Health and careful consideration of the health and safety of students and staff, Elementary School District 159 have made the decision to begin the 2020-2021 school year with remote learning for all students. In addition, the first day of lessons has been delayed until August 24.

Rich Township School District 227 upcoming 8th grade testing day is Saturday, December 5, from 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Appointments to register NEW students in grades K-8th will be done by appointment only. Appointments can be made July 28th-30th, from 10AM-3PM by contacting your neighborhood school. All RETURNING students must complete registration online.

Elementary School District 159 calendar for the 2020-2021 school year has been amended to reflect pushing back the school year by one week. Our official reopening for the 2021 academic year is now Monday, August 24, 2020. During this time, students will return to school remotely for two weeks.  However, we are examining a hybrid model with a remote option.  Further guidance is forthcoming.

Students verification/registration information was sent out to the emails on file. Please register your student with the Snap Code provided. If you haven't received the code, please email mevans@dist159.com. If you have already registered online no further action is required.

This year has been quite a challenge for our 8th graders but they continued to soar like eagles! We will celebrate the Class of 2020 with a virtual graduation next Friday, May 22nd at 6:00pm. The graduation can be seen on YouTube, Facebook, and the Villages of Richton Park and Matteson's Comcast public access channel 4.
